Partnership with ScanAlert Provides Enhanced Security, Consumer Confidence For Company’s Live Chat, Email and Voice Channels
NEW YORK, N.Y. – March 14, 2007 – LivePerson, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPSN), a provider of online conversion solutions, announced today the industry’s first partnership with Internet security auditor ScanAlert, Inc. to provide HACKER SAFE® certification for live chat, email and click-to-talk services.
The HACKER SAFE certification mark will be displayed on chat buttons and dialogue windows hosted by LivePerson for more than 5,000 ecommerce organizations around the world. This dynamic certification is the result of comprehensive daily security audits of LivePerson’s communication channels, which are then certified to the HACKER SAFE standard.
ScanAlert currently protects and certifies more than 75,000 ecommerce websites, scanning for more than 10,000 security vulnerabilities every day. The core HACKER SAFE technology protecting LivePerson’s communication channels is enhanced by ScanAlert’s HACKER SAFE Labs, a group of top information security professionals that oversee all aspects of daily security scanning and remediation efforts.
“This partnership is a significant milestone for improving the online shopping experience,” said LivePerson CEO Robert LoCascio. “As E-commerce continues to expand and more consumers choose to complete their online transactions through live chat, consumers want and need the confidence that their transactions and communications are secure. This partnership will combine the confidence of interacting with a real person online with the peace of mind inspired by the HACKER SAFE mark.”
“We are breaking new ground in Internet security because it is the first time that we’re certifying a communications service to the HACKER SAFE standard,” noted ScanAlert CEO Ken Leonard. “Our security services are a natural addition to LivePerson’s communication platform, offering companies an easy way to increase conversion rates by giving consumers the confidence they need before buying.”
“The LivePerson and HACKER SAFE combination enables us to engage customers proactively, and ensure that their shopping experience is free of any security concerns they may have about online commerce,” said Alexander Sienkiewicz, Director of Marketing for SwimOutlet.com, the largest online swimming products and accessories retailer. “With the HACKER SAFE mark displayed in the LivePerson chat window, consumers feel safe and secure sharing information with our sales and customer service agents.”
Founded in 2001, ScanAlert secures organizations of all sizes against threats to their network infrastructure and then certifies them to the HACKER SAFE® standard – the world’s Internet security benchmark. Offered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, HACKER SAFE certification is used by more than 75,000 organizations, including ESPN, The American Red Cross, Toshiba, Warner Brothers, and well over half of the 500 largest online retailers in the USA. ScanAlert also operates HACKER SAFE Labs, the industry’s only research group focused on ecommerce application security. More information is available at www.scanalert.com.
