ORLANDO – February 13, 2007 – Channel Intelligence today announced the industry’s first automated solution to support Google’s March 1 mandate for retailers to provide detailed product attributes for Google Base. SellCast™ Retailer Solutions now includes AttributeIQ™ and KeywordIQ™ technologies, delivering automated attribute and keyword discovery for Google Base, MSN Shopping, Amazon and other leading shopping channels.
Google Base now contains nearly 2 billion product listings that Google uses to power several of its sites including Google.com and Froogle. In order to make product searches more effective for consumers, Google has now mandated the inclusion of general attributes like product type, brand and color, as well as targeted attributes, such as megapixels for digital cameras and sizes for clothing.
Online retailers that submit products lacking attributes to Google Base will suffer significantly reduced visibility – in fact, their products may be completely removed from Google’s sites. SellCast™ Retailer Solutions from Channel Intelligence ensure a retailer’s continued visibility and enhanced performance through three key technologies: (1) CategoryIQ™ automatically assigns the correct Product Type required by Google using a patent-pending item-level categorization system; (2) AttributeIQ™ uses a unique discovery process to identify key attributes and map the attribute values to those expected by Google; and (3) KeywordIQ™ identifies high-performing search terms used by consumers and delivers those keywords to Google.
“Google Base can drive a significant amount of sales for retailers and delivers an excellent ROI,” said Tim Tryzbiak, General Manager of SellCast™ at Channel Intelligence. “Channel Intelligence enables retailers to be more effective on Google Base by delivering the complete, accurate product data now required by Google.”
The AttributeIQ™ and KeywordIQ™ technologies are now available through SellCast™ Retailer Solutions from Channel Intelligence. SellCast™ is the leading solution for the syndication, optimization and management of product data for comparison shopping engines and online marketplaces.
