Latest Win Indicates Kewill Trade Becoming Industry Standard for Direct Dispatch Solutions
Express Gifts Ltd, one of the UK`s leading mail order gift companies, is the latest home-shopping customer to use Kewill Trade, Kewill`s powerful supply chain execution solution. Express Gifts will utilize the web-based MTX application to enable goods to be delivered direct from its suppliers to customers.
Key to Express Gifts growth plans was a significant expansion of its direct dispatch business. Working closely with Kewill, the company identified the need to increase electronic trading with its suppliers and carriers. However, the increasing volume of transactions expected and the need to maintain high customer service standards could not be managed by the existing manual systems, whilst the rollout of EDI-based software to a large number of suppliers would be too expensive and slow to implement.
Express Gifts chose Kewill Trade because of Kewill`s leadership in direct dispatch systems and the inherent flexibility of the solution. The web based MTX solution will integrate Express Gifts` direct dispatch suppliers, including seasonal and short-term suppliers, and carriers. They will access the solution either through a standard web browser or via direct system-to-system integration. By bringing suppliers and carriers onto Kewill Trade, Express Gifts will be able to automate and manage critical business processes and gain real-time visibility throughout the order to delivery lifecycle.
The speed and ease of set-up and the scalability of the solution will facilitate the expansion of Express Gift`s direct dispatch supplier community from 5 to 45 suppliers this year with weekly orders over 20,000 in the peak season. The system can be easily expanded to include new suppliers and product ranges. In addition everyone in the trading community can be simultaneously updated about system changes and enhancements.
Through enabling greater visibility to Express Gifts of critical information about orders, dispatches and other key events, customer services will be able to provide more accurate information to the end customers. The company expects this will increase sales and that, along with the significant reduction of fax, post and telephone communications, will enable a rapid return on investment.
