Benjamin Moore & Co. Selects Tomax retail-in-realtime™ Solution

Kurt Peters

Salt Lake City; Jan 16, 2002 - Tomax Corporation announced today that Benjamin Moore & Co., one of the country`s leading manufacturers and retailers of paint, stains and related products, has selected Tomax` Retail.net® suite of applications and Oracle Corporation`s Financial application for company-owned retail stores, with an option to offer the integrated solution to its independent dealer network.

The Retail.net suite is designed to manage retail operations, including point-of-sale, back office and corporate functions. It consists of web-based thin client applications that are designed to be deployed with a minimum of local software content, reducing technological complexity at store locations. Together with Oracle`s Financial application, the Retail.net suite will allow Benjamin Moore & Co. to view and control its retail processes as they occur - a model that Tomax calls retail-in-realtime™.

"Tomax offers us the best thin client solution in the market," said Dan Corcoran, Director of Business Systems for Benjamin Moore & Co. "We believe that the Retail.net suite will allow us to reduce the technology footprint throughout our stores and will offer our authorized dealers the same benefit. This will translate into cost savings for our retail operations."

"One of the major advantages of the retail-in-realtime strategy is a quickly realized return-on-investment," said Eric Olafson, President and CEO of Tomax Corporation. "Because we can implement and maintain Retail.net from a single location at corporate headquarters, the cost and complexity usually associated with this type of enterprise application can be radically diminished."

Tomax and Oracle announced a strategic alliance in July of 2000, and participate in ongoing technical and marketing collaborations in support of their combined solutions.
