Mobile accounted for 25% of Ulta's e-commerce revenue during Q2.
The e-retailer promoted executive vice president and chief financial officer Bob Barton to president and chief operating officer and controller Brad Shank to vice president of finance.
OnlineShoes.com has promoted Bob Barton to president and chief operating officer from his previous position as executive vice president and chief financial officer. In his new job, Barton will oversee strategic planning, business development and daily operations, and direct departments that include marketing, merchandising, software development and technology, order fulfillment, customer care and finance and accounting.
OnlineShoes.com, a web-only retailer that is No. 168 in Internet Retailer’s 2013 Top 500 Guide, hired Barton in 2009. He was chief financial officer and vice president of operations at Drugstore.com, which now is owned by Walgreens, from 1998 until 2007, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before joining OnlineShoes.com he was chief financial officer for Cranium Inc., a toy and game company, while it was being sold to Hasbro Inc. in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he worked as partner at BoomBoom Brands, a business consultancy.
“OnlineShoes.com has created a unique online experience that truly caters to the needs of the customer, and by filling those needs we have seen dramatic growth over the last four years,” says Barton. “With a continued focus on the customer experience, great brand relationships and passionate team members, I am excited about the continuing growth opportunity OnlineShoes.com offers.”
In addition to Barton’s promotion, Brad Shank has been elevated from controller to vice president of finance after five years with the company, the e-retailer says. OnlineShoes.com also hired two new executives: Suzie George as vice president of human relations and Michael Ousley as vice president of marketing.
George has a background in business and communications and spent 17 years in human resources at Boeing Co. and other companies. Ousley has experience with online retail and creating strategic direction for 64 brands within Nielsen Business Media, a division of Nielson. His most recent leadership position was with Brownell’s Inc., a firearm and accessories supplier, as chief marketing officer.
“In 2014, we plan to expand on OnlineShoes.com’s stellar customer service reputation by cementing customer loyalty and capitalizing on our expertise to guide the customer to the exact product for his or her specific need, first time, every time,” says Ousley. “In the future, we will use whatever information each customer shares with us to build a long-term relationship with that individual and truly personalize each OnlineShoes.com shopping experience.”
In 2013, OnlineShoes.com launched both an Amazon Marketplace storefront and an eBay storefront, and optimized mobile sales on smartphones and tablets. OnlineShoes.com also began offering international service with third-party partner Borderfree, a Canadian e-commerce services company, and now ships to more than 100 countries worldwide.
