Mobile Labs Trust test automation solution will streamline and automate the entire functional and regression testing processes for any app running on the iOS 7 platform.
Mobile Labs, LLC, a leading provider of enterprise-grade, next-generation mobile application testing solutions, today announced its comprehensive support for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices running Apple iOS 7 will be available September 18, the same day it is made publicly available by Apple. With this support, the company’s Mobile Labs Trust test automation solution will streamline and automate the entire functional and regression testing processes for any app running on the iOS 7 platform. Mobile Labs’ same day support of iOS 7 means enterprise test teams can begin testing iOS 7 apps in concert with their receipt of the new operating system. In addition, the company’s private cloud-based device access management solution, deviceConnect, will make devices running iOS 7 readily available to testers for secure on-device testing, no matter where the devices or testers are physically located.
Among other changes, the new iOS provides a dramatically different user interface (UI) than previous versions of the operating system. For test automation engineers, this equates to a nearly-new platform and means that automated, platform-independent regression tests are more important than ever. Trust, a certified add-in to the market-leading test automation tool for Web and desktop apps, helps engineers to rapidly test apps on multiple platforms in the most device-independent and OS-independent manner possible – with a single script capable of testing multiple platforms. Trust’s object-based scripting makes this possible by isolating the app from differences across operating systems and device types, giving testers powerful methods for handing UI objects as well as device-independent methods for identifying objects. Simply stated, this means scripts written to test iOS 6 can test apps on iOS 7 just as well – and will extend to apps that will need testing on future iOS releases as well.
“Mobile Labs’ same day support for Apple iOS 7 is critical for our enterprise customers to support their mobile testing needs. Given iOS users’ tendency to adopt new operating systems very quickly, the time to start testing enterprise apps on iOS 7 is as soon as it’s available. iOS users have high expectations that their favorite apps will perform on iOS 7 as well or better than they did on iOS 6,” commented Mobile Labs CEO, Don Addington. “While most apps will run without change, there will be instances where apps require updating. The best way to identify these issues is to use existing iOS test scripts for regression tests. We want to simplify this process as much as possible, which is why Trust enables testers to leverage existing scripts for regression testing with little to no modifications. Trust reduces testing time and script maintenance while increasing ROI.”
