The e-retailer puts out a fulfillment call that could, by one estimate, increase its warehouse workforce by 10%.
The textbook retailer also updated its customer support services.
Online textbook retailer eCampus.com has updated its web site, making the search box more prominent by surrounding it with more white space.
Though the position of the search box, at the top middle of the home page, hasn’t changed, it has become larger and stands out more. The search box, surrounded by a blue rectangle, now rests against the white background of the home page, instead of against a larger blue background that was atop the white home page background. Shoppers can use the search box to search for textbooks by title, author or ISBN, a unique book identification code.
ECampus, No. 264, in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also updated its customer support services, called the Help Desk, by cleaning up the navigation and adding a set of links for self-directed inquiries, such as tracking books and viewing orders. It also placed its contact information along the top of the section. Prior to the update, the contact information had been at the bottom of the page.
“ECampus.com chose a design enhancement that keeps the site current-looking while improving the overall shopping experience,” says Matt Montgomery, president and CEO. “The new home page gives the site a more consistent, easy-to-use look and feel that has improved conversion and increased average order value.”
