Export Now Launches Knex Online in China

Export Now helps U.S. consumer product companies sell online in China by removing all the barriers to exporting.

AKRON, Ohio (July 9, 2013) – Export Now (www.exportnow.com), a one-stop online platform that helps U.S. companies tap the growing market demand for their products in China, today announced the launch of online retail for K’NEX Brands (www.knex.com) on China’s Tmall.com business-to-consumer website.

One of the world’s most popular lines of children’s construction toys, K’NEX building sets let children build and create models by connecting together specially designed building pieces. The toys are designed to inspire creativity, build self-confidence and encourage interaction among children and parents. The website will provide greater access to the Chinese consumer market for popular K’NEX building sets such as Angry Birds, Super Mario Brothers and Mario Kart.

The new online offerings (meilike.tmall.com) mark the first official presence for K’NEX in mainland China.

“As part of our corporate strategy, K’NEX is focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™. We wanted to enter the Chinese market when we had the right portfolio of brands and the right e-commerce partner,” said Michael Araten, President and CEO, K’NEX Brands. “We believe our strong combination of Angry Birds, Mario Kart and Super Mario Brothers licenses, coupled with the core K’NEX brand, will resonate well with consumers in China. Export Now is the right partner to help us, with its strong marketing strategy and launch plan for the Chinese market. They will build brand awareness of K’NEX through social media, search engine optimization and marketing, and their group buying program. We plan to launch new products to the China market on a quarterly basis.”

Export Now founder and Chief Executive Officer Frank Lavin said a growing number of companies are using Export Now’s business model to sell their products to the vast Chinese marketplace. “Companies large and small are seeking to enter the Chinese market, where consumer demand continues to intensify for high-quality products of all kinds,” he said. “Now, popular brands such as K’NEX can efficiently gain access to this large and profitable market, opening up new growth opportunities for their products. We look forward to helping K’NEX achieve its growth goals in China.”
