Online coupon company RetailMeNot Inc. has bought Abcyne SAS, a similar firm based in France. RetailMeNot, which operates sites in the United States and Europe, did not say how much it paid for the French firm.
Last month, RetailMeNot filed for an initial public offering that could raise $230 million. RetailMeNot is based in Austin, TX, and launched in 2007. Last year, it featured online coupons from more than 60,000 retailers and brands and recorded more than 450 million visits to its coupon web sites, according to its IPO filing.
Abcyne operates the digital coupon site ma-Reduc.com, RetailMeNot says. Luc Clément and Jérôme Gremez, who founded ma-Reduc.com in 2004, will have jobs working to support RetailMeNot’s operations in France.
