Apple and Costco lead June response time tests
Apple and Costco posted the best Internet Explorer and Firefox times, says Gomez.

Apple.com produced the best Internet Explorer access time among 22 large web retailers tested in June, according to Compuware Gomez. Last month, Apple.com posted an average Internet Explorer load time of 0.72 seconds. Costco.com led Firefox response time testing with an average of 0.66 seconds.
Costco.com finished in second place in Internet Explorer tests at 0.79 seconds, followed by Amway.com (1.12), Dell.com (1.25) and Walmart.com (1.34).
Apple.com finished second in last month’s Firefox response time tests with an average of 0.66 seconds. Dell.com (0.72) came in third, followed by Walmart.com (0.97) and Amway.com (1.01).
The average large retailer’s high broadband response time for a shopper using Internet Explorer in June was 2.73 seconds, the Gomez study shows. The average Firefox response time among the same group of 22 retailers was 1.80 seconds.
Response time is the average time it takes to fully download a web site’s content.
