Emma Raises the Bar on Mobile Email Display with Responsive Email Templates

Built-in media queries optimize email marketing campaigns for smart phones and tablets

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Web-based email marketing company Emma, Inc., has implemented responsive design across all of their free readymade email templates, giving customers optimized rendering on any device or screen size, without having to change their workflow or manually create multiple versions of their mailing.

“Studies show that 43 percent of emails are currently opened on a mobile device, and that will rise to 78 percent by 2017,” said Grey Garner, market strategist at Emma. “Designing email for the mobile reader will only become more important to marketers, and we’re excited to build responsive code right into our templates and make it easy for our customers to look great on any device.”

The responsive code automatically resizes content and reconfigures the layoutwhen an email is viewed on a small screen. Font and images become larger, while multiple columns are streamlined into a single column that’s easy to scrollthrough.

"This is a great opportunity for our customers to incorporate a fresh look into their email marketing," said David Wright, senior product owner at Emma. "The bestpart is that Emma does the hard work for you, resizing your content in just the right way to resonate with your growing list of mobile-savvy recipients. Combined with our upcoming, enhanced in-editor preview tool, you can put yourself in the 'hand' of your customers and see how they’ll view your message on mobile, tablet, desktop or any pixel dimensions you’d like to preview."

The mobile-optimized templates are available to customers in Emma’s collection of more than 100 free ready made designs, where they can customize a template with their brand colors and logo for email newsletters and promotions.
