Colorado Springs, CO – Josh Derr has come a long way since he joined what is now Internet retail giant Hayneedle.com in 2003. “We were a small but scrappy group of determined professionals,” Derr remembers fondly. “It was kind of trial-by-fire, but it was exciting. There was a feeling that we were creating something extraordinary.” He was one of about a dozen employees on the first handwritten organizational chart drafted by founder Doug Nielsen.

“Damn Fine was conceived after I basically became fed-up with the quality of advertising we are all bombarded with on a daily basis,” says Derr. “So much of it is uninspired, or worse: outlandish nonsense that draws your attention but completely misses the point; you might remember the ad, but not the company it was promoting. I thought, I know a lot of smart, talented, clever people. We can do better.”
Drawing from contacts made over fifteen years in business, Derr assembled a group of the best-of-the-best, experts in disciplines ranging from branding to design to SEO, even aerial photography. The result is Damn Fine Creative, a full-service agency bent on carving a niche in the advertising world.
