April 24, 2013 - London, UK – Hearsay Social has announced the opening of its European headquarters in London, the appointment of a regional director and an update to its social sales and marketing platform in anticipation of further growth in the region. The world’s largest organisations use Hearsay Social to increase revenue, referrals, and renewals by transforming the entire enterprise into a social business.

The European headquarters based in London will be led by veteran software executive Peter Caryotis, who previously managed IBM’s Northern Europe Platform Computing business. Peter joins Hearsay Social with 20 years of international sales and management experience from companies including Oracle and Sun Microsystems. “Social media usage continues to grow in the UK, but many organisations, especially those in highly regulated markets such as financial services, are still trying to figure out how to leverage the social networks to generate revenue,” commented Peter.
The Hearsay Social platform has been updated to support German, French, and Spanish in addition to English, enabling sales people from Europe’s largest economies to use the tools in their local language. “Hearsay Social can help marketers manage corporate social profiles, but it comes into its own as a tool for empowering salespeople on social sites. The company, which has more than 100 employees and has raised $21 million in funding, was founded in 2009 in San Francisco by former executives from Google and Microsoft. Hearsay Social’s investors include Sequoia Capital, NEA, and top executives from Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, and YouTube.
