Joss & Main, a members-only, flash-sale site for home furnishings and decor, has released a list of the top 10 U.S. cities based on mobile sales of home goods at Joss & Main over the past six months, and Las Vegas tops the list. Joss & Main reports a 70% year-over-year increase in mobile revenue in January and says mobile commercenow represents 30% of total sales.

The top 10 cities, in order from greatest share of mobile sales down, are: Las Vegas; Tampa, FL; Dallas; Charlotte, NC; San Antonio; San Diego; Miami; Houston; Chicago; and Atlanta. The top 10 cities by percent growth of mobile sales during the last six months are, in descending order: Dallas; Miami; Houston; New York; Charlotte, NC; San Francisco; San Diego; San Antonio; Fort Worth, TX; and Birmingham, AL.

With the U.S. Department of Commerce reporting a 16% increase in new home sales in January and house sales at a four-and-a-half year high, Joss & Main sees a direct correlation between the uptick in the housing market and the e-retailer’s rapidly growing revenue and membership, the merchant says. The two-year old e-retailer surpassed 3 million members earlier this year, it reports.

“With many areas hurt by the housing market crisis coming back strong, people are shopping for their homes on the go from their phones and tablets,” says John Mulliken, co-founder and general manager of Joss & Main. “We’ve seen the highest percentage of mobile sales, and the fastest growth of sales, in areas like Nevada, Texas and Florida. Members who have been putting off fixing up their homes for several years because of uncertainty in the economy are now re-entering the market and investing in their homes. It’s exciting to see how much of that recovery is derived from mobile shopping.”

Joss & Main is a unit of Wayfair LLC, No. 50 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
