Tealium Provides Tag Management to Petco

Petco joins Urban Outfitters, The Finish Line, Inc., Mattel, Advance Auto Parts, Yankee Candle, and dozens of other retailers in using Tealium.

Palm Desert, CA (Feb. 26, 2013) – Tealium, the leader in enterprise tag management, today announced the addition of leading pet specialty retailer Petco to its growing list of enterprise e-commerce brands. A member of the Internet Retailer Top 500 (IR500), Petco joins Urban Outfitters, The Finish Line, Inc., Mattel, Advance Auto Parts, Yankee Candle, and dozens of other top retailers in using Tealium to increase digital marketing marketing agility, improve web site performance, and empower their big data initiatives.

The announcement was made today at eTail West, one of the largest e-commerce conferences in the world. The event takes place at the JW Marriott Desert Springs in Palm Desert today through Thursday. Tealium will be providing demonstrations of its market-leading tag management solution, Tealium iQ, at Booth #214.

After an extensive evaluation of the market, Petco selected Tealium iQ for its ease of use, scale and performance, and depth of enterprise capabilities, including Tealium DataCloud, an add-on service that provides marketers with an actionable source of all of their digital data. Petco was also impressed with Tealium’s commitment to customer success, including the launch of its Tag Management University, the industry’s first formalized tag management training program, geared toward customers and agency partners.

Using Tealium, Petco’s digital marketing team will be able to manage all of its mission critical, tag-based online marketing solutions by themselves without having to rely on ongoing assistance from IT personnel. Tealium’s best-in-class user interface empowers business users to easily manage third-party vendor tags with point and click simplicity and no expertise in JavaScript.

“Tealium takes the pain out of managing vendor tags and will allow us to be more nimble and efficient, while freeing up valuable IT resources,” said Jason Stuempfig, Director of Online Marketing at Petco. “We will be able to launch more revenue-generating campaigns, faster and easier. In addition, by optimizing the management of tags, Tealium will improve our web site performance, helping to increase conversions and provide a better online customer experience.”

The addition of Petco reflects the growing adoption of Tealium’s platform in the enterprise e-commerce space. Online retailers are often at the forefront of digital marketing innovation and typically use a large number of digital solutions to help maximize results. Tealium currently has 22 of the Top 250 retailers on the Internet Retailer 500, a list of the top business to consumer retailers in the industry.

“Petco is one of the biggest names in retail and we are proud to be their trusted partner for enterprise tag management,” said Erik Bratt, Vice President of Marketing at Tealium. “Tag management is a game-changing application for online retailers, as well as many other organizations, because it helps streamline digital marketing complexity and increase overall results.”
