RealTruck.com experienced record-breaking sales in 2012, especially during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The pickup truck accessory e-retailer attributes this success to a combination of strategic sales promotions and efforts made throughout the year to improve its user experience on its website and for mobile devices. This has yielded measurable benefits, with conversion rates and overall revenues seeing dramatic increases.
Last quarter’s holiday promotions period saw RealTruck’s on-site revenue 23% higher compared to the same period in 2011, while transactions increased 22% in that same timeframe. The company has also seen a significant sales increase from users on mobile devices; the conversion rate for visitors using a smart phones or tablet during November and December was 96% above average compared to the rest of 2012, with the conversion rate on Cyber Monday peaking at 205% above average.
“We have focused our efforts on improving the customer experience across the board, whether they visit from their laptop, a tablet, or their phone,” said RealTruck.com CEO Scott Bintz. “Recent projects have included a redesign of our checkout process, improvements to how our site appears and performs on a tablet, and refining our ordering controls based on feedback we received from user testing. All of these efforts have been aimed at delivering a more consistent, high-quality shopping experience across all platforms and devices.”
RealTruck.com entered the holiday shopping season riding a 15-month wave of record breaking sales and is currently ranked 245th in the Internet Retailer Mobile 400 Guide. December sales remained high, with sales for multiple 24-hour periods approaching levels close to those attained on Black Friday. This momentum allowed the retailer to finish the year nearly 30% ahead of 2011.
