In the next 17 months, it expects 10% of its B2B customers will be transacting on the web, an executive says.
Dawn M. Zier joins the retailer after 20 years at Reader’s Digest.
Nutrisystem Inc., which sells weight management products and services online, today announced that Dawn M. Zier will join the company as president and CEO, and as a member of the executive board, effective Nov. 15. She will replace Joe Redling, who will step down from both positions and his board membership at the end of the retailer’s fiscal third quarter on Nov. 9. Chief financial officer David Clark will serve as CEO from Nov. 9-15.
Nutrisystem is No. 93 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
“Dawn’s experience and accomplishments fit our requirements perfectly, as she has led Reader’s Digest Association’s transformation to a customer-centric business model, built new products, developed new revenue streams in the digital arena and demonstrated a clear ability to manage costs and drive efficiencies to deliver strong financial results,” says Mike Hagan, chairman of the Nutrisystem board of directors.
Zier most recently served as president of international business at Reader’s Digest, where she held numerous leadership positions over the last two decades, according to Nutrisystem. There she helped build the multi-brand media and direct marketing company’s portfolio of licensing agreements outside the United States, Nutrisystem says. She has also served on the board of the Direct Marketing Association since 2008, the retailer says.
“Joining Nutrisystem is a wonderful opportunity for me personally, and the logical next step in my career,” Zier says. “With a fresh and creative approach to the consumer, a thoughtful eye to new product development and a careful effort to contain costs, I believe we can improve financial performance and build shareholder value.”
