The retailer topped Internet Explorer and Firefox consistency tests.
Overstock.com had the best consistency score for Internet Explorer testing among large retailers tested in August, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent Internet Explorer site loading time with a variation of 0.65 seconds. Overstock.com also had the best Firefox consistency score at 0.47 seconds.
OfficeMax.com (0.76 seconds) placed second in Internet Explorer tests. Amazon.com (0.98) came in third, Dell.com finished in fourth (0.99) and OfficeDepot.com (1.00) in fifth.
In Firefox testing, Dell.com followed Overstock.com in second place with a deviation of 0.96 seconds. OfficeMax.com trailed in third place (0.98) and was followed by Apple.com (1.03 seconds). LLBean.com and OfficeDepot.com (1.05) tied in fifth place.
The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the 19 retailers measured in August was 1.47 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.89 seconds.
The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
