moTwin Releases New Version of Context-Aware Mobile Application Development Platform, Expands Its Presence to the U.S.

New Platform Simplifies Installation and Speeds Time to Market; Unique Data-Cache Feature Enables Off-Line Browsing

Palo Alto, California – Sept. 18, 2012 – moTwin, a leading mobile application development platform (MADP) provider specializing in the cross-platform development of context-aware applications for  mobile devices, announced today the release of its latest platform application, moTwin 3.0, and the company’s expansion in the U.S. market.

moTwin, formerly Mootwin, is a fast-growing provider of mobile application platform software and support services for the financial services, retail, media and entertainment, healthcare, and telecommunications industries. While most app providers have focused on client-side development of simple apps, moTwin has taken an entirely different approach with a distributed architecture. By allowing development at the server level, the company enables fast development and deployment on all platforms as well as flexible management of scalable mobile applications.

The company’s new HTML5-ready 3.0 platform now includes a native software development kit (SDK) available via a JavaScript application-programming interface (API). The platform expands on moTwin’s unique persistent data-cache feature by allowing off-line browsing and zero-lag start-up.

The moTwin Platform 3.0 also includes several features designed to make moTwin’s current, award-winning platform simpler to use, speeding time to market. It includes simpler and more dynamic client-side data management, and a simple server-side data-integration framework. The new 3.0 platform also offers a Wizard-based business-module integration and a fully extensible framework.

Like previous versions of the platform, moTwin Platform 3.0 also provides APIs for back-end integration. The back-end integration with enterprise systems allows realtime information that can be used even in complex applications. User-context based, real-time information over a resilient network allows companies to configure user profiles, tailor messages to customers and send instantaneous data to help in enhancing revenues and user-retention.

“Mobile application market is growing rapidly across the globe as enterprises implement multi-channel experiences,” said Song Chuang, Research Director, Gartner, Inc. "For faster time to market and better  leverage of development resources, many of our clients are looking to utilize mobile application development platforms and other tools."

“This new version of the moTwin Platform builds on the award-winning features of our previous version that allows enterprise customers, system integrators and others to significantly streamline development of native, Web and hybrid mobile apps across all channels,” said moTwin CEO Claude Lemardeley. “We have been extremely successful in Europe with many Global 100 customers  and are excited about our expansion to the United States with the most sophisticated mobile application platform in the industry.”
