Before joining ShopAtHome.com, Mayer worked as the Chief Strategy Officer for Trada, a crowdsourced PPC marketplace, where he led product management, engineering, marketing and sales. During his time with the company, he and his team grew revenue more than 700 percent, increased customer retention, and significantly grew the engineering and sales teams.
Prior to Trada, Mayer spent seven years at Yahoo!, during which time he held a variety of senior leadership roles. In his most recent position (2010) at Yahoo! as Vice President, Search Market Initiative, Mayer grew search query volume by 210 basis points following thirteen consecutive months of query share decline by Yahoo! Search. Additional positions included Vice President, North American Audience as well as Vice President, Search Business and Products.
Mayer has over 15 years of search experience with roles at Overture, FAST Search & Transfer/Alltheweb.com, Inktomi and Thomson Corp. He has been a successful speaker and keynoter at marketing conferences for many years including Search Engine Strategies, Blueglass, SMX, OMMA, Pubcon and SXSW.
