Casual Male Retail Group Inc. has named Derrick Walker senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
Walker will oversee the multichannel retailer’s marketing operations, as well as building brand recognition for the company's fledgling big and tall DestinationXL brand
“He will serve a leadership role in balancing the company's primarily existing direct customer contact strategy with brand marketing in expanded media channels such as digital and social media intended to raise market awareness of the DestinationXL brand,” says David Levin, president and CEO of Casual Male, No. 234 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. “Casual Male is in the formative stages of developing its transformation to DestinationXL and enhancing market awareness is a key component of the strategy.”
Walker previously worked as vice president of marketing at LensCrafters. Prior to joining LensCrafters in 2009, he worked as vice president of marketing at Finish Line and director of marketing at Radio Shack, which is No. 275 in the Top 500 Guide.
