Kevin Vasconi comes to the chain as it ramps up its e-commerce efforts.
Domino’s Pizza Inc. has hired Kevin Vasconi as executive vice president and chief information officer. He succeeds Christopher McGlothin, who left the pizza chain last year. Vasconi starts his job March 19.
Vasconi previously worked at Stanley Black & Decker—Stanley Security Solutions, a security system provider for businesses and homes; he was chief information officer and vice president of engineering. He started there about a year ago, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he spent eight years as senior vice president and chief information officer for Polk Global Automotive, a market research firm. He also held other senior jobs for companies in the automotive industry.
"I am excited to put my leadership experience in global technology to work for Domino's Pizza,” Vasconi says. “Domino's is already an established innovator in consumer technology, demonstrated by its industry leadership and the fact that it is among the top e-commerce businesses in the country and around the world.”
Domino’s recently launched a smartphone app that enables consumers in the United Kingdom to order pizzas and find stores. The pizza chain, which began accepting online orders more than four years ago, says that nearly a third of its total orders comes through the web. Nearly a year ago, the chain became part of the ShopRunner program, which offers free shipping for a $79 annual fee to online shoppers.
