Investor optimism about 1-800-Flowers Inc. lifted the e-retailer’s stock price 10.36% in value last week.
1-800-Flowers, No. 45 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, announced Wednesday it would release its fiscal second-quarter results Jan. 26, and the stock closed at $2.49 that day, its peak closing price for the week. The stock finished the week at $2.45, up from $2.22 a week earlier.
That made 1-800-Flowers one of the leaders last week in the Internet Retailer Online Retail Index, which tracks the stocks of 25 online retailers and e-commerce technology and service providers. The index gained 0.42% last week, a week in which the broader market also posted modest gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced .50% and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index moved up .88%.
