Online books and music marketplace Alibris Inc. has hired a Musician’s Friend Inc. executive as general manager.
Adam Silverman will develop and manage strategic growth strategy for Alibris, No. 123 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide; he will work with Alibris.com and the company’s U.K. site, Alibris.co.uk. Monsoon Commerce Inc. is the parent company of Alibris.
Most recently, Silverman was director of marketing at Musician’s Friend, No. 44 in the Top 500 Guide, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, he worked as group manager of digital marketing at Target Corp., No. 22. From 2006 to 2009, he was director of e-commerce for apparel retail chain The Wet Seal Inc., No. 316.
