The call for an audit of Facebook’s metrics comes a week after the social network acknowledged inflating its video metrics.
QVC’s m-commerce site posted the best September response time across four mobile devices.
QVC’s mobile site, m.QVC.com, produced the fastest iPhone access time among large web retailers in September, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, m.QVC.com produced an average iPhone mobile response time of 1.75 seconds.
M.Sears.com came in second in iPhone testing with a time of 2.12 seconds, followed by m.Newegg.com (2.44 seconds), Dell.com (2.75) and Williams-Sonoma.com (3.17).
QVC’s mobile site also led in response time tests for the three other mobile devices measured by Gomez last month: Sprint’s HTC Hero (2.04 seconds), T-Mobile’s HTC Dream (3.49 seconds) and Verizon’s Droid (1.96 seconds). Sears’ mobile site finished second in testing for the HTC Hero (3.52 seconds) and the Droid (3.23 seconds). Dell’s mobile site came in second for testing on HTC’s Dream (4.95 seconds).
Gomez measures response time as the total time required for each mobile site to load on a user’s phone. Load times can be influenced by location, carrier, network protocol and signal strength, and some measurements start from mobile site landing pages that result from redirections once a mobile device is identified.
