Leo J. Cole brings more than 30 years of data security and enterprise software marketing experience with leading global organizations to Trustwave.
Chicago (October 4, 2011) – Trustwave, a leading provider of information security and compliance solutions, today announced its appointment of Leo J. Cole as chief marketing officer.
As an industry veteran, Cole brings more than 30 years of data security and enterprise software marketing experience with leading global organizations to Trustwave. In his new role, Cole is responsible for leading the global marketing strategy, while also driving day-to-day execution of the company’s marketing plan.
Previously, Cole was Vice President of Marketing for Guidance Software (NASDAQ:GUID), where he helped grow the company's visibility in digital forensics and electronic discovery, as well as help expand market opportunities in the data security space. Directly prior, Cole was Vice President of Marketing for Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ:WBSN) where he helped that company grow from $100 million to $350 million in revenue, expand internationally, reposition itself from Web filtering to Web, data and email security, and build an award-winning channel marketing program.
Cole spent more than twenty years at IBM (NYSE:IBM), where he held various positions, including Director of Product Management for the IBM Enterprise Security Portfolio, Director of Strategy for the Systems Management Portfolio, Director of Strategic Alliances, and various product development positions.

Cole earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Syracuse University and holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
