A Profitero study showed Target’s online prices were 25% more expensive than Wal-Mart’s, which were just slightly more expensive than prices on Amazon.
So Young Park has been promoted to lead PennySaver’s online businesses.
Retail advertising portal PennySaverUSA has promoted So Young Park to executive vice president and general manager of its digital business, the company says.
In her new job, Park will oversee brand strategy, marketing, web technology, customer service, and revenue generation for PennySaverUSA's network of business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce and mobile sites, including PennySaverUSA.com and SaverTime.com, PennySaver's new local daily deal site. Park was previously vice president of marketing and e-commerce for PennySaverUSA.com. She will also manage its web design and hosting subsidiary PowerSites, the retailer says.
Prior to joining PennySaver, Park held various positions at Musician’s Friend Inc., the online division of retail chain Guitar Center Inc. and No. 44 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide. Those jobs included director of e-commerce marketing and director of strategic initiatives, according to her LinkedIn profile.
From 1998 to 2006, Park was director of e-commerce and direct marketing at A&E Television Networks, where she was responsible for strategic planning, distribution, marketing, and operations for A&E and The History Channel’s online stores, print catalogs and direct response TV businesses.
