Both social networks today announced new tools that let e-retailers drive sales directly from their platforms.
The e-retailer will open three new fulfillment centers in Tennessee this year.
Amazon.com Inc. is opening an approximately 500,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Lebanon, TN. The e-retailer, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says it will create hundreds of full-time and seasonal jobs at the facility this year.
The Lebanon facility will be Amazon’s third fulfillment center in Tennessee. Amazon plans to open two additional facilities in the Volunteer State in the fall, in Chattanooga and Cleveland, creating 1,200 new full-time jobs, it says. This will bring the retailer’s total space in the state to more than two million square feet.
“We’re delighted to be expanding our investment in Tennessee, bringing hundreds of additional jobs to the state,” says Dave Clark, vice-president, Amazon North American operations.
Amazon currently is recruiting candidates for jobs at its Tennessee facilities. Full-time hourly openings include roles in picking, packing and receiving/shipping. Management roles include positions in operations, safety, human resources and technical support.
So far this year, Amazon has announced plans for new fulfillment centers in Washington, Indiana, South Carolina and Arizona.
