Home goods multichannel retailer Anna’s Linens is poised for a major expansion this year. And the retailer says its new director of e-commerce, Lance Stern, will develop the strategy for what it calls the fastest growing part of its business—the online channel
Stern’s responsibilities include improving the functionality and aesthetic of the retailer’s e-commerce site, along with the creation of a new fulfillment center this fall.
He has more than 10 years of e-retailing experience, most recently as e-commerce manager at consumer electronics retailer Pauls TV Inc., according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, Stern was senior manager of e-commerce, China, at Nike Inc. and senior manager of NikeiD, the footwear retailer’s customizable shoe segment. Nike is No. 78 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide.
“After a long and careful search, we’re confident that Lance is the right person for this position and we are excited to have someone of Lance’s caliber and expertise on the Anna’s Linens team,” says Steve Strickland, the retailer’s vice president of marketing and e-commerce.
Anna operates more than 275 stores in 18 states, and plans to add 17 new stores in the second half of 2011; 13 have already been added this year.
