Christine Putur, with Staples since 1999, is promoted to chief information officer.
Staples Inc. says it has promoted Christine Putur to chief information officer at Staples Inc. Putur will be responsible for developing and executing global information technology strategy.
“Chris has demonstrated great leadership at Staples,” says John Mahoney, vice chairman and chief financial officer. “She has deep knowledge of our customers and company with proven ability to align information systems to business goals. Chris will drive the I.T. organization as an important part of our success in the years to come.”
Putur joined the office supply retail chain in 1999 and has held various positions with the e-commerce, technology strategy and program management teams. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of information systems for the retailer’s North American delivery businesses.
She succeeds Brian Light, whom Staples says will lead efforts around enhancing customer experience.
