The search giant today rolled out new ways for marketers to understand the in-store impact of their ads.
The social network names Tom Stocky director of product.
Facebook Inc. has named longtime Google executive Tom Stocky as one of the social network’s directors of product. Other directors of product include Peter Deng, who last week introduced Facebook's new chat features.
Stocky, who had worked at Google since 2005, helped start Google's developer products team and has worked on the company’s search, client and travel product teams, according to his personal blog. Facebook declined to comment about Stocky’s new job responsibilities.
The move is latest in the virtual hiring war between Facebook and Google. Other employees who have migrated from Google to Facebook include David Fischer, vice president of advertising and global operations; Amin Zoufonoun, director, corporate development; Erick Tseng, head of mobile; and Paul Adams, global brand experience manager. And in 2008 former Google vice president of operations Sheryl Sandberg become Facebook’s chief operating officer.
Last month Google launched Google+, its latest attempt to develop a social networking service to rival Facebook.
