Newegg and Dell lead in May consistency testing

Newegg.com and Dell.com had the top site consistency ratings among large retailers.

Newgg.com had the best Internet Explorer consistency score among large retailers tested in May, says Compuware Gomez. Last month, the retailer had the most consistent site loading time with a variation of 0.48 seconds. Dell.com (0.69 seconds), placed second in Internet Explorer tests and was followed by OfficeMax.com (0.76), Overstock.com (0.81) and QVC.com (1.05).

Dell.com had the best Firefox consistency score in May, Compuware Gomez reports, with an average variation of 0.50 seconds. OfficeMax.com (0.71 seconds), OfficeDepot.com (0.87), Overstock.com (0.91) and LLBean.com (1.30) rounded out the top five.

The average Internet Explorer consistency score among the 16 retailers measured in May was 1.27 seconds. The same group of retailers produced an average Firefox score of 1.66 seconds.

The consistency ratings take into account differences in the speed of web page delivery across multiple visits.
