Cactus says it has bought up the technology from marketing company Sitebrand Inc.
Digital marketing company Cactus Commerce has bought the web personalization and e-mail marketing technology of Sitebrand.com, the wholly owned subsidiary of Canada-based Sitebrand Inc. Cactus did not say how much it paid for the acquisition.
Cactus sells online marketing services to such clients as GameStop Corp., No. 115 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, and Sam’s Club, the member-supported warehouse shopping arm of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., No. 6 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
“This acquisition further strengthens Cactus’ digital marketing capabilities,” says Cactus Commerce CEO Tony Marinelli. “Since 1995, we’ve delivered commerce solutions to customers in retail, consumer goods, media and entertainment, and manufacturing industries. These assets will allow us to even further improve customer engagement and conversion rates via advanced capabilities to segment, target and personalize content.”
Shawn Freeman, GameStop’s senior vice president and general manager of digital business, will speak at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition 2011 in a session entitled “The m-commerce maze: How to sort out the technology that will power the next shopping revolution.”
