David Niggli had worked as president of toy retailer FAO Schwartz.
Totsy, a private sale online retailer that sells products designed for moms and children, has hired David Niggli as its chief merchandising officer. Niggli most recently worked as present of toy retailer FAO Schwartz. He has served as a consultant for his new employer, which operates the Totsy.com e-commerce site.
"With Totsy in the midst of its next wave of growth, David joining our team full time is a tremendous win,” says Guillaume Gauthereau, the retailer’s CEO. “We look forward to building on Totsy’s prior success under David's strategic guidance.”
During his time at FAO Schwartz, Niggli introduced such products at Barbie dolls and Stars Wars and Harry Potter toys. He also developed a private-label product line for the retailer, along with business in specialty apparel, baby gear and furniture. He started with the toy retailer in 1987, winning promotion to president in 2002.
Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. bought FAO Schwarz in May 2009.
