The apparel manufacturer and retailer makes its third acquisition in 12 months.
Kellwood Co., an apparel manufacturer and retailer, has acquired contemporary sportswear brand Rebecca Taylor. Terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition marks Kellwood’s third purchase since January 2010. The others are Adam, a maker of trendy women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, acquired in August, and Isis, a women’s outdoor performance and casual apparel manufacturer and online retailer, purchased in January.
Rebecca Taylor, created in 1996 by New Zealand designer Rebecca Taylor and her business partner Elizabeth Bugdaycay, designs, wholesales and retails premium branded women’s contemporary apparel and accessories.
Rebecca Taylor is distributed in more than 40 countries and 250 cities worldwide. The collection is carried by retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks 5th Avenue, Lane Crawford and Selfridges, and at specialty boutiques. The company has retail stores in Japan, Hong Kong and Manhattan and sells online at RebeccaTaylor.com
