Less than a month into the New Year and the e-retailer and marketplace announces plans for three additional U.S. fulfillment centers.
The new site has been designed to better optimize American Meadows’ strong gardening-based traffic for the spring planting season and beyond.
Baltimore, MD (December 14, 2010) — Groove Commerce is proud to announce the launch of the all-new American Meadows eCommerce site: www.americanmeadows.com. The new website was designed and developed, on the Magento Enterprise Platform, by Baltimore-based Groove Commerce and the American Meadows technical team in Burlington, Vermont. The new and improved site has been designed to better optimize American Meadows’ strong gardening-based traffic for the spring planting season and beyond.
“American Meadows was one of the first eCommerce sites in the gardening business and during the spring season, we welcome up to 15,000 unique visitors per day. With a extensive mix of both products and gardening how-to content, we needed a platform that combined the latest in eComm technology with easy-to-use content management,” explains Ethan Platt, American Meadows managing partner.
The site leverages many of the rich features and functionality of the Magento Enterprise Platform such as: layered navigation, dynamic promotional capabilities and a customized one step checkout. In addition, the site has a fully integrated eCommerce search extension that was built through the combined efforts of Groove Commerce, American Meadows, and Nextopia.
“The level of effort and functionality powering this search shows that the American Meadows team wants to be more than just your average eCommerce site. By providing equal emphasis on content and products, they are showing their users they are an industry expert and are looking to engage with them in a unique way in order to ensure a successful experience with their products,” said Ethan Giffin, CEO of Groove Commerce.
The new site was completed following an eCommerce Opportunities Analysis by Groove as well as a rebranding project earlier this summer. The new look and feel of the American Meadows website celebrated the New Americana branding: rugged and outdoorsy with ample amounts of style.
“After several design iterations, we found the line between the site being easy to use for shoppers and maintaining the American Meadows personality. The website reflects the American Meadows mantra: We are real, everyday gardeners just like you,” says Groove Commerce designer, Heather Van De Mark.
Ethan Platt, expects to see better site performance and a new level of user interaction between the site and its new features.
