Direct marketing communications and printing firm R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. says that it has acquired marketing services firm Nimblefish Technologies Inc. Donnelley did not say how much it paid for the company.
Nimblefish Technologies sells technology that marketers and retailers can use to manage direct mail, e-mail, web and video communications with consumers. Products include Nimblefish Advisor, a service that aims to personalize what a visitor sees on a web site based on the inferred purpose of the visit, and Nimblefish Nurture, which automates direct marketing efforts.
R.R. Donnelley says the acquisition will extend its range of services. “This will leverage our extensive digital platform which offers the ability to personalize communications in quantities from one to millions,” says Thomas J. Quinlan III, R.R. Donnelley’s president and CEO.
R.R. Donnelley closed a $481 million deal for Bowne & Co., a digital printing service, last month. Investment banking firm Petsky Prunier LLC advised Nimblefish on the deal.
