CEO Sharon Price John says Build-A-Bear’s old e-commerce system is a big reason for disappointing online sales in December.
Blue Nile will offer jewelry at reduced prices on the day after Thanksgiving.
Online jeweler Blue Nile Inc. will offer three holiday product exclusives—special limited quantities of select jewelry available for 24 hours or while supplies last—on the day after Thanksgiving. It will be a first time the retailer has offered this type of post-Thanksgiving promotion.
The holiday exclusives will be available for up to 46% off and every item will receive free shipping more on free shipping via FedEx Priority Overnight or FedEx 2Day Shipping.
The three featured jewelry items, available at midnight Eastern Standard Time on Nov. 26, are the sterling silver Everlasting Hearts Necklace, regularly priced at $65, for $35; the Tuxedo Freshwater Cultured Pearl Necklace, regularly priced at $185, for $100; and the Oval Design 15-carat Diamond Necklace, regularly priced at $29,000, for $18,850.
Customers also can shop for jewelry from Blue Nile, No. 58 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, from their mobile devices. Blue Nile’s iPhone app enables consumers to research and comparison-shop its collection of more than 70,000 diamonds. The app’s “Dream Box” feature enables consumers to browse thousands of one-of-a-kind rings created by Blue Nile. The Blue Nile App is available for free at iTunes.com.
