ChaCha Search Inc., an advertising-supported mobile search service that answers specific questions posed by users, has hired Greg Siefert as its new chief technology officer. He will oversee the company’s engineering and technology operations.

Siefert founded and worked as president of Springhead LLC, a consulting firm that focuses on technology. Prior to that, he worked at Ambassador Solutions as vice president of solutions formation, leading sales, marketing and consulting efforts.  From 1998 to 2006, Siefert worked as practice director of enterprise technology solutions for Blackwell Consulting Services.

“Siefert is a seasoned executive who has delivered world-class technology solutions to leading Fortune 500 companies such as Kraft Foods, Pepsi, Eli Lilly, Cummins and Aon Corp,” says Scott Jones, ChaCha's CEO. “His experience includes creating and implementing enterprise architectures capable of handling more than 30 million transactions per day.”

Earlier this year, ChaCha launched a Facebook app that has opened up millions of its questions-and-answers that can be shared on the social network.
