Online sales climbed 24% year over year, while Best Buy’s overall sales were flat.
Two of the new employees come from customer review site Yelp.
Comparison shopping site TheFind.com has hired two executives who helped build Yelp, a site where consumers review all kinds of businesses, from restaurants to bike shops. The site also has hired a spokeswoman.
Nish Nadaraja joins TheFind as marketing director, a role similar to his job at Yelp, the comparison shopping site says. Nadaraja will oversee marketing along with TheFind’s online community and social commerce efforts.
Michael Ernst becomes creative director, charged with what TheFind says is “developing a sophisticated digital aesthetic for the brand to match its engineering ingenuity.”
TheFind also has hired Alison Deyette as spokeswoman and the site’s resident savvy shopper. She will not only help promote the site but share shopping, fashion and lifestyle advice with site visitors. Deyette has written for national newspapers and magazines and worked as a runway producer, fashion director and stylist, TheFind says.
