The home goods retailer says it has hired more than 50 new staff in Q2.
Online home furnishings retailer CSN Stores LLC says sales in the first half of 2010 are up 60% compared to 2009, making this year the retailer’s best year ever.
CSN Stores, which had an Internet Retailer-estimated $270.5 million in online sales in 2009, says it now earns more than $300 million in online sales.
To handle the boost in sales the retailer says it has hired more than 50 staff members in the second quarter of 2010, increasing its current staffing to more than 650 employees as the company continues to expand both in the U.S. and overseas in the U.K. and Germany.
CSN Stores, No. 61 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, operates more than 250 specialized e-commerce sites. The retailer says it registered year-over-year second quarter growth of 279% in pet goods, 1778% in upholstery, 155% in toys, 128% in bedding, and a 101% gain in housewares. The company declined to disclose dollar sales.
“Though the economy continues to fluctuate, we believe that Q3 and Q4 will be even busier and better for CSN than the first half of the year,” says Niraj Shah, CSN Stores` CEO and co-founder. “Most of our 22 categories, both new and established, have seen significant growth. Barring any major economic setback, the back to school and holiday seasons should expedite that growth."
