In May, TigerDirect.com generated an average high broadband Internet backbone transaction response time of 7.92 seconds to lead top web retailers, according to measurements from Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corp.
Gomez analyzed availability and response time from the Internet’s distribution network, or backbone, which is one of the ways for retailers to monitor web site performance. This test measures retail product order response times.
After TigerDirect.com, the rest of the top five response times were turned in by Newegg.com at 7.97 seconds, Overstock.com at 9.09 seconds, OfficeDepot.com at 9.32 seconds and OfficeMax.com at 9.95 seconds.
The average product order response time among the retailers measured in May was 16.72 seconds, Gomez reports.
