Drugstore.com Inc. is kicking off the spring season with the launch of two niche e-commerce sites, AllergySuperstore.com and TheNaturalStore.com, giving the web-only retailer 10 e-commerce sites in all.

AllergySuperstore.com offers non-prescription products designed to relieve indoor as well as outdoor allergies, including over-the-counter medicine, cleaning products, air purifiers, bedding products and gluten-free foods.

The site also offers $1.99 standard shipping on every order within the contiguous 48 states. For prescription medicines, the site provides a link to the online pharmacy at drugstore.com.

"Our goal is to help our customers literally breathe easier by offering products in one, easy to shop online store with the convenience of home delivery," says vice president of merchandising Julie Johnston.

TheNaturalStore.com sells thousands of products in categories including beauty, personal care, vitamins, health, baby and kids, home and pets, herbal remedies, and food and fitness. The site specifies that all of its products for sale are free of artificial colors or dyes, mineral oils, harsh chemicals or other skin irritants, that none is tested on animals, and that they all provide full disclosure labeling and meet government manufacturing standards.

TheNaturalStore.com offers $4.99 standard shipping on all orders within the 48 contiguous states.

Both the AllergySuperStore.com and TheNaturalStore.com were developed in-house on Drugstore.com’s Asp.Net web site technology platform, a spokeswoman says. Asp.Net is a web site development platform from Microsoft Corp.

Drugstore.com, No. 46 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, also operates e-commerce sites drugstore.com, Beauty.com, SkinStore.com, VisionDirect.com, LensMart.com, LensQuest, AtHisBest.com and SexualWellBeing.com.
