Gilt Groupe expands operations leadership with a new vice president

Online luxury retailer Gilt Groupe Inc. has named Christopher Halkyard vice president of operations. Halkyard will be responsible for expanding and managing Gilt Groupe’s supply chain and distribution network.

Online luxury retailer Gilt Groupe Inc. has named Christopher Halkyard vice president of operations. Halkyard will be responsible for expanding and managing Gilt Groupe’s supply chain and distribution network.

He will report to Jennifer Carr-Smith, chief operating officer.

Previously, Halkyard was senior vice president of supply chain at Marc Ecko Enterprise. Before that he was vice president of supply chain and logistics at L’Occitane en Provence.

“As we continue to scale our business to meet tremendous customer demand, it is critical for us to have strong leadership in operations,” Carr-Smith says. “Chris brings over twenty years of supply chain and logistics experience to Gilt Groupe and will be instrumental in creating operating efficiencies while continuing to provide exceptional customer service.”

Launched in November 2007, Gilt Groupe offers a range of daily sales in the areas of women’s fashion and accessories, men’s apparel and lifestyle, home, children, and travel to serve its invitation-only membership. Most sales last 36 hours.
