Multichannel retailers sent 14.6% more emails in the second quarter than they did a year earlier.
Web-only home furnishings retailer CSN Stores says its sales for the first two months of 2010 are up 60% over the same period in 2009, thanks to strong growth in its fitness equipment, recreation room gear, and bedding and mattresses.
Home furnishings retailer CSN Stores LLC says its sales for the first two months of 2010 are up 60% over the same period in 2009, thanks, in part, to significant growth in its fitness equipment, recreation room gear, and bedding and mattress categories. The company declined to disclose specific sales numbers.
Also contributing to CSN’s growth were a dozen new sites, including CSNOffice.com, AllModernPet.com and WheelchairSelect.com, the company has added since February 2009, says a company spokesman.
CSN Stores, No. 63 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, adds roughly 10,000 SKUs a month to its selection, the company says. “We have invested significantly in our expansion during the recession and the recovery to maximize our growth in 2010 and beyond,” says Niraj Shah, CSN Stores’ CEO and co-founder.
CSN redesigned all of its more than 20 e-commerce sites last year, adding new features, promotions and links. It also began selling on Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s Marketplace last August.
The company says the categories reporting the biggest growth are:
- Fitness equipment, 1,200%
- Recreation room gear, 350%
- Bedding/mattresses, 250%
- Upholstery, 150%
- Youth/toys, 110%
