Overstock.com, which turns 10 years old on Oct. 9, plans a contest to run Oct. 1-10, with a prize given away each day. The grand prize is a Toyota Prius.
Online discount retailer Overstock.com Inc. turns 10 on Oct. 9, and it’s celebrating the anniversary with a contest that will award a prize each day from Oct. 1-10.
“Many people said that we would not last this long but our loyal customers are the ones that made this all possible,” says Overstock.com chairman and CEO Patrick Byrne. “They stuck with us for the first 10 years and I hope they will stick with us for the next 50.”
Overstock, No. 29 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, plans to reward customers’ loyalty with the 10-day “Decade O’ Deals” contest. The contest page at Overstock.com will offer each day a clue to the “Daily Dig,” the featured product of the day. Consumers who find their way to that product page will see a 10th anniversary logo with a link to enter to win the prize for that day. They can also share the contest with friends.
The grand prize is a Toyota Prius hybrid car. Other prizes include a home theater system, a $5,000 jewelry package, a moped, a smartphone package, a luxury watch, one year’s free gas, a residential room makeover worth $5,000, a $5,000 shopping spree on Overstock.com and a $5,000 vacation package.
