As chief operating officer, Kevin Freeland will oversee e-commerce as well as merchandising, inventory management, supply chain, store operational support, information technology and consumer experience. Advance Auto also named Jim Wade as president.
Advance Auto Parts Inc. has appointed Kevin Freeland as chief operating officer.
As part of his duties for the multi-channel retailer, Freeland will oversee daily e-commerce operations as well as merchandising, inventory management, supply chain, store operational support, information technology and consumer experience.
Freeland joined Advance Auto in February 2008 as executive vice president in charge of merchandising, supply chain and information technology. Prior to Advance Auto, Freeland was president and founder of Optimal Advantage, a retail consulting firm, serving customers such as Dell, No. 4 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide and PetSmart Inc. (No. 225). He also worked for eight years with Best Buy Co. Inc. (No. 12), including as senior vice president of inventory and president of the Musicland division.
Advance Auto also named Jim Wade as president. Wade, who joined Advance Auto in 1994, will be in charge of sales and customer satisfaction initiatives and do-it-yourself transformation strategies, which include commercial sales, marketing and advertising, field and store operations, Autopart International and real estate. Wade was previously an Advance Auto executive vice president and customer development officer.
Wade and Freeland report directly to CEO Darren Jackson.
