As chief executive officer, Scott Morrow will focus on building the social shopping site into a global brand.
Social shopping site ThisNext has promoted Scott Morrow from president to chief executive officer. Traffic at ThisNext has increased significantly under Morrow’s leadership since he joined the company in 2007, with the number of unique visitors growing by 154% since his hiring, the company says.
“From day one, my role has been to plan, justify and determine the right time to build the company,” says co-founder and initial CEO Gordon Gould. “I chose Scott to lead ThisNext as CEO because of his business acumen and proven leadership in constructing successful brands. “ Gould will continue with the company as executive chairman.
Morrow says he’ll focus his efforts on building ThisNext as an international brand. “ThisNext is uniquely positioned to lead the emergence of social shopping as a global phenomenon,” he adds. “We’re expanding an executive team to scale our business as we focus on market leadership and rapid growth on all fronts.”
Prior to joining ThisNext, Morrow was executive vice president, product and marketing, with InterActive Corp.’s local search network Citysearch, where he repositioned the brand and launched merchant and consumer sites. He also worked as vice president of marketing and sales for CNET.
