AbeBooks’ Wertz named to e-commerce site builder’s board

Communicate.com has appointed Boris Wertz to its board of directors. The company builds e-commerce and content sites, specializing in the areas of health and beauty, sports and recreation, travel and leisure, and communications and electronics.

Communicate.com Inc. has appointed Boris Wertz to its board of directors. The company develops and builds e-commerce and content web sites, specializing in the areas of health and beauty, sports and recreation, travel and leisure, and communications and electronics.

Wertz, former chief operating officer at AbeBooks Inc., also serves as a director on the board of the e-retailer, which specializes in used, out-of-print, collectable and hard-to-find books. AbeBooks is No. 70 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

“Wertz brings a wealth of experience to the board which will provide management with invaluable insights and direction,” says Geoffrey Hampson, CEO and chairman of Communicate.com. “Along with other recently appointed team members, Wertz will provide direction aimed at maximizing the value of Communicate.com assets and creating value for our shareholders.”

Wertz is CEO of Nexopia, a social networking site for Canadian youth, and CEO of W Media Ventures, a venture capital firm that focuses on consumer Internet investments. He also serves on the board of directors for Suite 101, Tripsbytips.com, Indochino.com, TeamPages and Techvibes.com.
