The Talbots Inc. has named retail veteran Paula Bennett as president of its J. Jill brand that targets women 35 and up. Talbots is No. 62 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
Bennett’s 35 years of retail experience include eight years at apparel maker Eileen Fisher Inc. where she was chief operating officer. She most recently has been president and CEO of the Appleseed’s, Tog Shop and WinterSilk brands at Orchard Brands. Orchard Brands, a unit of private equity firm Golden Gate Capital, manages eight companies, including Blair Corp., No. 118 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide and Norm Thompson Outfitters, No. 137.
